SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship Program
The SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship Program is new for students intending to enroll at SFU in Fall 2018. Geared towards high school students who demonstrate excellence in both their academic and extracurricular pursuits, the scholarships range in value from $10,000 up to an amount sufficient to cover tuition and supplementary mandatory fees. Further funding, in the form of a living allowance, may be offered to support exceptionally talented students with demonstrated financial need.
High school students with a minimum 90% admission average (or 31 International Baccalaureate points – predicted bonus points are not considered in the calculation) are eligible to apply.
In addition to funding, our program includes supports like welcome sessions, dedicated academic advising, and mentorship.
Please be advised that SFU is no longer offering automatic or school specific entrance scholarships to high school students. All students considering an entrance scholarship must apply to the SFU Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarship Program.
The online application is now open and the deadline is January 15, 2018. Supporting documentation, including support from references, must be submitted by February 15th, 2018. Note: an upload of an official transcript for the scholarship application from the school will not be required this year. Within the application, students are informed that they should identify and speak with a high school teacher, counsellor, or principal who would be able to speak in detail to the student's academic and/or extracurricular involvement, before submitting the name of a referee. In some instances, the information required in the reference may involve a collaborative conversation between a teacher and a counsellor where information is shared to finalize the online reference request.
