We will be having a welcome barbecue for all new students to LVR on Wednesday after the Terry Fox run in the courtyard. If you are new to this school we'd like to welcome you with a burger, munchies, and music. All grade nines are welcome. LVR's Terry Fox Run will be tomorrow at 11:00 am. Assembly in the gym and then the run /walk. All members of the LVR community are encouraged to donate loonies and toonies to help us meet our goal of $1000.00. Let's honour Terry Fox together.
Any grade 12 students that are interested in submitting their names to the sponsored pool for the Loran Scholarship, should forward their name with a brief synopsis of their leadership accomplishments/merits that fit the Loran scholarship- see website for details. We are looking for a few artistic and creative volunteers from our Intercultural Ambassadors and International Students to make some posters for Wed. Club day. Please meet in room 200 today at lunch if you'd like to help out.
The Nelson Canadian Parents for French are sponsoring a French exchange to Baie Saint Paul Quebec. Students aged 14 to 17 will travel during Spring Break, and host their twins in early July. It is a super opportunity and only 8 students will be travelling. For further information, there will be a parent meeting at Trafalgar Tonight from 7 - 8pm.
Grads, it's time to nominate your Grad Committee for 2018! Nominations close tomorrow at noon, nominees will be contacted before end of day and be asked to say a brief statement in the MP room on Thursday, Sept 28th before their peers. Voting will take place on site, and then at the office until noon Monday, October 2nd. Votes will be counted, and the successful candidates will be announced on LVTV on Tuesday, October 3rd. There are usually up to 7 Grad Committee representatives who will work on our behalf to provide an excellent grad, including fundraising and working alongside the Parent Grad Committee. Questions?
