There will be a Rotary Youth exchange information meeting at LVR on Thursday Sept 27th, at 7pm in the multipurpose room. Both short and long term exchanges will be discussed. A $500.00 Conger scholarship is available for both exchanges. Go on an exchange for a year, and it can change your life.
Did you know that Indigenous children were often forcibly taken away from their families and traditional territories, to attend government or church run Residential Schools that were sometimes thousands of kilometres away from their homes? This Friday, please wear an Orange Shirt to honour Indigenous Children who attended these schools.
The LVR book club will be meeting this Friday at lunch in the library.
This Thursday at the Public Library there is a writing workshop with Jeff Forst from 3:30-4:30.

For all our football, or should I say soccer fans, on Friday your very own LVR Boys Soccer team travelled to Vernon. In fact that's 10 hours and 20 minutes of sitting on a bus...a great feat in itself!! Our Seniors won their first game against Seaton Secondary and lost their second game against Kalamalka Secondary. Our Juniors lost their first game against Kalamalka but then faced the same team again later in the day and finished in a 2-2 draw. Our next and major tournament is in Kamloops this Thursday and Friday.
Canadian Parents for French-CPF - information meeting at Trafalgar school on Sept 25 at 7 pm. High school students from Bordeaux France are coming to LVR in April 2019, building on cultural exchanges since 2010 between Nelson’s LVR and Bordeaux Ste Chlotilde schools.
