Thursday November 15th is 'Rock Your Mocs' Day! Moccasins were traditional footwear worn by Indigenous Peoples all over the Turtle Island. Usually made out of the skin of an animal, leather moccasins were made in different styles depending on the tribe. They were either painted or had some sort of design on them. Later, with the arrival of European influence, glass beads were used to adorn moccasins with amazing beadwork designs, again varied by tribe. If you have a pair of moccasins, please wear them on Thursday.
