Grad grocery card fundraiser is on now. Order forms available at the office, school webpage and Parent Facebook page. Deadline is Friday Feb. 17 by 3:30 pm.
Grads, hopefully your burger and beverage tickets are sold. Please bring your money, to the multipurpose room, this Wednesday, Feb 1, between 11 and 1. Any unsold tickets should be returned as well.
We are still looking for grad volunteers to help at the event this Sunday. Please see one of your grad executive members or Ms. Kidd to sign up. We need your help and you can get GT hours as well. Staff please help support the grads by joining us for Super Bowl Sunday at Finley's. Tickets are $15 each and lots of silent auction items to bid on.
Global perspectives and social justice students - Lisa McGeady with the Coldest Night of the Year initiative will be meeting with us at lunch this Friday to get us all set up for our community walk on Feb. 25th. Classroom location to be determined. Stay tuned.

Are you interested in writing? politics? meeting local authors? Come to the library this Wednesday at lunch and meet Donna MacDonald. She will be sharing a reading from her book called Surviving City Council. She served as a city councillor in Nelson for 19 years and will share her experiences in municipal governance. Refreshments will be provided.

Auditions for this years Shakespeare festival play will take place from 3:30-5:00 on Friday February 3rd and are open to those in Grades 10-12. Audition sides and more information about the play can be found on the drama room bulletin board.
Attention Aboriginal Education Students: YOU HAVE A NEW WEBSITE! You can access it through the school website under 'More' then 'Programs' or with the address: aboriginaleducationlvr.weebly.com. It has all the upcoming events listed. This week, Toni has 2 things planned. If you are Metis or interested in Metis culture, there will be an Elder visiting us on Thursday, February 2nd in Block 4. On Friday of this week, Toni will be taking students dog-sledding in blocks 2, 3, & 4. See Toni as soon as possible as there a limited number of spaces for that activity. As always, make sure you have seen all of your affected teachers to get permission to attend any of these events.
For those of you who don't know LVR has two designated times for squash. No it's not a vegetable thing. It's a fast paced game played with racquets inside and it's open to everyone. Girls times are Mondays from 4 until 5 and boys Tuesdays from5:30 until 6:30. There is a pro on site for instruction and we are hoping to put a junior tournament together once we get enough committed quality players. There is already pretty good turn out but we are looking for more players. Come on down to the Nelson squash club on Baker street above the Royal. First time free. If you have any questions please come and see Mr. Liddell in room 300.
There is a new club called " Italian cooking food and friendship" run by Olindo Chiocca a Italian food writer and Mr Machado.
It runs every Wednesday after school and promotes Techniques in quick Italian cooking. Please sign up on Mr. Machado's door or send him an email.
