1.The senior girls volleyball team is in Kelowna for the triple A provincial championships. They participated in opening ceremonies last night and begin their pool play this morning facing the #2 ranked team, Timberline of Campbell River.
2.Students with Ms. Terlingen in GT 12, please attend your final mandatory seminar on wellness in the multipurpose room today, please be on time as you have a number of great informative stations for you to rotate through.
3.There will be a bullet journal session today in room 309 for anyone interested.
4.Students with Ms. Terlingen doing GT presentations on Dec. 13th, please come at lunch today for a practice seminar in room 105.
5.The Global Perspectives Group will meet on Friday, Dec 2nd in room 102 at 11:35 for a discussion on breastfeeding, within a social and environmental context with community members. On Sunday, Dec 4th from 9:30am to 3:30pm there will be a FREE Arts workshop at Hidden Creek Arts Centre, where students will travel by boat to the day long workshop, learn encaustic (a traditional method of beeswax painting) and create paintings to display in an Interior-wide travelling Art exposition. There is space for 8 students from any grade to participate in the Arts workshop.
6.Reminder to RC Car enthusiasts, the RC Club is meeting at 11:30 today in the Media Arts lab.
7.A reminder to all staff and students: the deadline for clothing orders is on Monday dec. 5th. please get your orders into Mr. Mace asap.
8.There is a meeting at lunch on Friday for all GP and SJ students. Please come with your lunch to room 102 for your presentation. Come get a permission form from Martin in the library today to be signed by parents/guardians prior to tomorrow's meeting as Amy will be filming from Watershed productions.
9.We are inviting all girls in grades 9-12 to join us Friday, December 9th for an afternoon of learning about and making natural body lotion and lip-gloss. You will meet in the Foods room at 3:30. Cost is $5 to help cover the cost of ingredients. If you have a small container or a favorite essential oil to scent you creation, please bring it along. Sign up is outside the Foods room. Look for posters around the school and/or see Ms. Wilson for more information.
10.Freedom Quest has been cancelled this Friday as Mandy and Rick are unavailable. They look forward to seeing everyone next week.
11.In preparation for second semester we are distributing Diploma Verification Reports (DVRs) to all Grade 12 students. This will also include an explanation of how to read DVRs. There will be two opportunities for to get this information: Morning flex time today, and lunch time tomorrow. All Grade 12 students should make every effort to attend either of these sessions. You do not have to attend both.
