Congratulations to grade 10 student Aoife Owton for advancing to the National Finals for the Poetry In Voice recitation competition. Aoife is one of 12 high school students from across Canada who has qualified for the final competition in Vancouver next week. She will be reciting three poems from memory in front of a large audience, and will be judged on her accuracy, physical presence, voice and articulation, understanding of the poems, and overall performance. The National Champion will win $25,000... Aoife has been practicing and preparing for weeks for her big moment on stage. Best of luck, Aoife!
Deadline for the LVR Dance hoody and sweats orders is this Thursday April 13th. Please take your orders to Ms. Buss in the office. Also, the deadline for the Flower Basket order is Monday April 24th.
On behalf of Rec Leadership we would like to remind everyone on April 12 & 13 that soccer intramurals are happening this Wednesday and Thursday as well as next week at lunch and the team list is posted on the trophy case outside the gym.
Call all grade 11's and 12's. A new fundraiser is starting for grad 2017, and we need volunteers to make it happen. The fundraiser is weekly or biweekly selling of SaveOn and Kootenay Co Op grocery gift cards at the school. We need people to help take in money and hand out gift cards at the set up table. You can use these hours for GT or global perspectives. There will be a sign up sheet at the office. This is open to any grade 11's or 12's.
Dance Company is cancelled for today. We will meet Tuesday at lunch in the theatre foyer.

The Rose Garden Summer Cafe, located in Lakeside Park, will be opening for the 2017 summer season in early May. They are looking for enthusiastic, honest, reliable, capable, and energetic employees who want to join their team! Interested in participating in the upcoming May provincial election? Consider the Youth in the Booth Program. This is a program that lets students work at the election day doing things such as counting votes. Please see Ms. Malloff asap if you are interested.
